Industrial mechanic

The problem solvers

No matter what work needs to be done in a company, industrial mechanics can virtually do everything: milling and lathing, drilling and grinding, soldering and welding, filing and sawing, lubricating and screwing. They are universal handicraft talents and ensure that production does not stand still.

From commissioning to maintenance and repair, industrial mechanics handle the set-up and maintenance of production plants. In the case of a malfunction, they search for the cause and remedy it as soon and as efficiently as possible. Therefore, industrial mechanics have to analyze and think about the situation and they need technical and handicraft skills. If there is no spare part that fits available on the market, the mechanics have to make it for themselves.

Proper planning for trouble-free processes

Repair and maintenance works need to be properly planned and prepared so that the production plants do not stand still any longer than is absolutely necessary. This is carried out in close cooperation with the other departments. Industrial mechanics must be able to work in a team. They must be familiar with installation plans and tools, with environmental issues and safety instructions.

There are no two days alike in this job

Every day the industrial mechanic faces new challenges that can only be mastered with organizational skills, knowledge and creativity. At Uelzena, industrial mechanics accompany all production steps. They are acquainted with many different machines; however, they can also specialize if they want to and can thus become experts for certain equipment.
