Competence in milk – and more
For more than 70 years, the Uelzena Group has produced a large variety of different products for the global food industry — tailor-made, innovative and of high quality. It all started with milk from the region, Northern Germany and this is where the milk still comes from today.
In 1952, the Uelzena eG was founded in Uelzen, a city lying between Hamburg and Hannover in the Lueneburg Heath in Lower Saxony. As we were a cooperative of dairy farms and dairies, we initially predominantly produced stable milk powder from the excess milk of our member companies.
Specialist for tailor-made products
Today, we are also producing butter, butterfat, cheese, sweetened evaporated milk as well as other ingredients and products with a milk base. Added to that we produce dry non-milk ingredients and we act as a service provider for the food processing industry. We custom-dry susceptible food products including flavorings, natural food colors and vitamins and we develop customized products for well-known brands.
Regional production, international sales
Our company grew with the expansion of our business areas. Currently more than 800 employees work at four sites of the Uelzena Group in Northern Germany. Our principle has remained untouched: We still source our milk from our cooperative members and contract dairies from the respective regions.
We market and sell our products on an international level. Among our most important direct customers are global companies from the ingredients, confectionery, bakery, delicatessen and hot drinks industries as well as from the vending sector. We also supply bakeries, butchers, catering businesses and food retailers via wholesalers.
All can rely on our expertise with milk which we have perfected over decades and also from the resulting expertise - for various food ingredients and products of premium quality.
