Sustainable acting with ethical responsibility
Guard rails help: Corporate actions have to remain within the framework and limits of the laws, regulations, contracts and agreements. In the world of business and finance, observing these rules is called compliance. Uelzena eG stands for law-abiding behavior, integrity and reliability on a national and international level.
We want to support the comprehensive implementation of ethical business behavior. With the Uelzena Code of Conduct (see box for download), the Uelzena Group has committed itself to do business with integrity and under consideration of sustainability aspects. Complying with relevant legislation is a matter of course for us. This includes the observance of workers and human rights, prevention of anti-trust violations, corruption or accepting advantages and other unlawful business actions as well as compliance with food legislation. Furthermore, we have made sustainable business practices and compliance with voluntary social and environmental standards our goals. We also expect from our business partners that their actions are in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Conduct.
Basis: Compliance Management System
The principle of compliance involves revealing illegal actions as soon as possible, reviewing the situation and stopping the actual misconduct. In order to comply with these requirements, we have introduced a Compliance Management System (CMS). Part of the CMS process are a newly established reporting channel and the procedural rules for the complaint procedure (see box for download). Since 2024, the Group has been subject to the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). This means that we are obliged to comply with human rights and environmental due diligence obligations in our supply chains. We are committed to ensuring that all our business partners also meet these standards.
You can find our policy statement on our human rights and environmental strategy here.
Whistleblower system
Compliance concerns us all. We are grateful to our employees, customers, business partners and other third parties for bringing possible violations to our attention. To that end, we have established a whistleblowing system that can be used around the clock and around the world - securely, confidentially and, if you wish, anonymously.
You can access the digital whistleblowing system here: Hintbox
We have appointed an internal Compliance Officer who can be contacted directly by employees, business partners and third parties to report irregularities and suspected cases of misconduct by employees of the Uelzena Group.
Compliance Officer: Mr. Christoph Bonmann, Managing Director Finances and Human Resources, Uelzena eG, can be contacted by email at compliance(at)uelzena.de
Indications of human rights and environmental risks as well as violations of human rights or environmental obligations that may have occurred as a result of business activities in the Uelzena Group's own business area or that of a supplier can also be reported directly to the Human Rights Officers.
Human Rights Officer: Sustainability Department, Uelzena eG, can be contacted by e-mail at nachhaltigkeit(at)uelzena.de
