Sustainability has been an integral part of the Uelzena Group’s management for many years. Our responsibility starts on the farms of our milk producers and extends to state-of-the-art production processes and committed partnerships in our region. This generates sustainable added value, combining economic stability, environmental responsibility and social cohesion.
STRATEGY
This is how we put sustainability into action
Our sustainability strategy grows with the challenges we face. It combines well-founded analysis with clear target systems and integrates commercial, environmental and social aspects in all areas of our business. By carrying out regular assessments and adjustments we remain flexible yet resilient, even when faced with the difficult landscape of new regulatory requirements.

Our key topics at a glance
Sustainability is a well-defined agenda at our company. The five strategic action fields – company, products, production, employees, and social and regional responsibility – determine our daily activities and form the foundation of our sustainability strategy. To each action field we have assigned the key topics for us, defined specific targets and derived actions. This is how we methodically embed environmental, social and commercial responsibility in our processes and continuously improve them.
MANAGEMENT
Responsibility needs structures
We have established clear responsibilities to make sure sustainability is effectively managed: The ESG board supports our sustainability goals as a strategic governing body. The ESG committee ensures the operational implementation and coordination of all the activities. We also have site managers who liaise with the specialist departments at each location. All our activities are methodically planned, implemented and can be tracked and measured using key metrics.

MATERIALITY
Knowledge that counts
We reassessed our sustainability topics extensively in 2024. Internal workshops, interviews with experts and a large-scale stakeholder survey helped us to identify impacts, opportunities and risks and prioritise sustainability aspects. This double materiality assessment forms the basis for our future sustainability management and ensures that we address the critical topics with maximum efficacy.

STAKEHOLDERS
Shared responsibility
Sustainability is created in dialogue. Members, employees, customers, suppliers, institutions and partners from science and politics are our main inspiration. Their feedback helps us to identify developments early on and actively shape our responsibility along the entire value-added chain.
